Practice Areas

Personal Injury/ Wrongful Death

Accidents happen, but when someone is negligent, they are responsible for the damages you suffered due to their negligent conduct.  We handle all Motor Vehicle Accidents, Slip and Falls (Premise Liability), Wrongful Deaths, Nursing Home Negligence and Abuse, and Oilfield Injuries.

Family Law

One of the most litigated practice areas in America is family law, and rightly so, as maintaining custodial and visitation rights of our children are paramount.  We handle all aspects of Family Law, including Divorce, Paternity, Custody and Visitation Modification, Child Support Modification and Collection, Guardianships and Termination of Guardianships, and Step Parent Adoptions.

Criminal Defense

Few things are more serious than criminal charges, but just because you are charged does not mean that you committed the act you are accused, or that the prosecution has the evidence to prove you did the act beyond a reasonable doubt.  Innocent people do get charged with criminal matters. That is why it is so important to have a dedicated attorney fighting for your interests.  We handle the following case: Possession, Trafficking, DUI, Burglary, Theft, Assault and Battery, and all other criminal matters.

Helping clients with all aspects of immigration law, personal appearances in Oklahoma City and Dallas.

Internet Defamation Cases

Technology has brought a new wave of defamation cases. Posting false and misleading statements on social media can interfere with your employment, your family and romantic relations, and can involve law enforcement based on false accusations.  We confront those false statements by suing both for money damages and restraining orders to prevent further publication of false statements.

About Todd Waddell

Todd Waddell has been practicing law in the State of Oklahoma since April of 1998.  He received his law degree from Oklahoma City University in December of 1997, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Dismissal of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon

Client was charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Prosecutors wanted client to serve time.  Tried case to the Court, and was able to demonstrate statute and Case Law required evidence of the Defendant's intent to commit actual harm to the victims.  Court agreed such evidence was not shown, sustained our demurrer, and dismissed the charge against my client.

Dismissal of Fourth DUI

Client was charged with fourth DUI.  Prosecutor wanted felony conviction and client to serve some time.  I was able to get this case dismissed after reviewing the body cam of arresting office which did not show the client was under the influence.

Guardianship Awarded to Uncle

Client was from Spain.  In a tough case, two minor children had tragically lost both parents at different times, the mother to cancer, and the father, to an accidental death while doing missionary work.  Both parents' wills stated that they wished my client, the children's uncle, to have guardianship in case anything happened to them. The parents of the father, who were also good people, wanted to retain custody of the minor children.  This case was hard fought by a good firm out of Tulsa.  Eventually, the Court found with my client and granted him custody and guardianship, and allowed the children to live with him in Spain.

Todd worked hard on my case for 2 and a half years!!! He helped me through every hurdle and every question and when we got in that court room he had my back 100 percent and listened to every concern I had. He is amazing. He will fight for you!

R. Todd Waddell won my guardianship case. It was a difficult challenge as I am from Spain and the trial was made in Oklahoma, but he accepted to represent me and he won. He wisely and respectfully explained to the Judge and my in-laws our point at the courtroom and the Judge eventually, after a long consideration that lasted more than 6 months, understood that I was fit, a valid person, and aligned with the will of my niece's parents. Todd is a nice person and a very experienced lawyer. I wish his communication by email would have been more fluent but I understand he must be a very busy man, for a good reason.
